Darwinian evolution is led and empowered by chance and necessity; that is, a gradualism fueled random mutations plus natural selection, the survival of the fittest. With these in place, it is said, given enough time, “pigs can fly,” all things are possible, no matter how remote the likelihood.
However, these two primary precepts of Darwinism cannot withstand a close scrutiny based upon empirical research conducted in the last hundred years.
Now what? Though Darwinism is a toppling edifice with feet of clay, this does not mean that evolution itself falls with it. The fossil record indicates that new life forms have come into existence over the eons. But how does it happen?
There are different theories. But many of them center upon genes and DNA. In other words, in some form or fashion, within a current gene pool, there are unexpressed proto-creatures, existing in potentia, that will eventually emerge. The genes, it is thought, must conceal a “hidden blueprint” for these organisms yet to debut.
The “hidden blueprint” idea seems to take us in the wrong direction. We’ve already reviewed the work of Dr. Rupert Sheldrake which strongly indicates that genes harbor no secret “architectural plans.” Instead, we must look for our answers in quantum-based morphic fields.
